Same

To an application programmer storm-topologies of bolts are similar to topologies of places in Askemos.

Different

A storm cluster is one peer (because it's admin is a SPOF) in an Askemos network.

Storm is more low-level: it passes tupels where Askemos requires mesages carrying certain meta data (e.g. rights). BALL passes tupels usually encoded in XML. (Though if sender and receiver are at the same peer those are at least not written out and parsed in, but simply the pointer to the parsed tree is conveyed.)

Conclusio

Storm might be a good starting point for yet another BALL implementation.
