Hi Al,

I can't believe I forgot, given the urgency.

Lame excuse: on Saturday I updated to the new version of one of the compilers I'm using. This appeared to work fine until Sunday afternoon.

The I observed data resynchronisation at higher rate. First this went almost unnoticed, but today - after a long enough time to empty the caches - it became apparent.

Turned out to be the fault of the compiler over-optimising a case and thus not updating the database as before.

This is a real case of why Askemos is a good idea to have: some "attack" might not be intentional. A well meant and so far tested software update might server as an attack vector too.

If I had run the network only on machines of that particular software version, I would have lost quite a lot of data.

Anyway, find appended the text we've been talking about last time.

CU

/Jörg
